Respond quickly to carpet stains
The longer a stain stays on the carpet, the more difficult it is to remove it. If something spills on your carpet, make sure that you clean it as soon as possible before it dries up. This is recommended by the experts at Carpet Cleaning Moraga, as responding quickly to such stains can save you from further trouble in the future.
Note certain carpet spots
Not everyone can resist the urge to sit on the carpet. It is also a known fact that people will walk all over your carpet. This is something you should keep in mind, as those spots could have dirt and germs hidden there. Take note of the spots on your carpet where people are likely to walk often, and then take extra care to vacuum those spots.
Soak stains overnight
Stubborn stains do happen, but they are often fixable. If your stain keeps reappearing, try covering it with a dry and absorbent cloth. Put something heavy over the cloth like a chair or table, and leave it there overnight. This should soak the bulk of the blemish, making future stain removal much easier to do.
Use a damp towel to refresh upholstery
This is a very basic method, but it produces awesome results. You can use lukewarm water. Do not soak the towel, but just dampen it a little bit. Then gently rub the upholstered surfaces using brisk movements. For best results, you should rub in the opposite direction of the fibers. This will make the furniture look amazing.
Picking out patterns
Wall to wall carpeting comes in a multitude of designs and styles. You'll need to take a moment to really pick out the one that you'll be happy or, at the very least, okay with for the next five years or so. You should also consider getting different designs or even different styles of carpeting for each individual room or living space. This adds to the distinct "personality" of your home.
